Grosso Romanesco Artichoke seeds
Cynara cardunculus scolymus

We grew some big artichoke buds with this huge Grosso Romanesco Jurassic-like artichoke - the Grosso Romanesco (Cynara cardunculus scolymus) is famous for its size. Beautiful purple flowers and petals. We give them a very early start inside. Rich soil and plenty of water are important. Add mulch to keep their feet cool. They do best in the spring of their second year. Keep in mind that these are a genetically variable species. Expect a 70-80% germination rate.
