Dogwood Cornus kousa
The Dogwood is a lovely and graceful tree all year long, but its the flowers (which usually don't show til the 3rd to 5th year) that have earned the tree its place in your garden. They grow best in the shade of a forest floor - so, try to mimic that wherever you plant. They need well drained soil. The perfect specimen will make a dense, rounded crown.
