About Us


We are a small, family-owned company just starting up a nursery, in the country, as we have long dreamed. That's me, Steve, to the left there. Our nursery is in Southern Humboldt, Northwest California - just near the pleasant community of Garberville. Summers tend to be hot and dry, while the winters are mild - spring and fall are simply magnificent. This weather pattern suits our land well. We are between the coastal and the interior climates - the natural vegetation is diverse and plentiful and wildlife abounds. Numerous micro-climates nestle within and are surrounded by our oak woodlands. Our olive orchard and our potted trees and shrubs really like it here. We grow japanese maples, figs, dogwoods and hydrangea.

We try to stay in "beginner's mind". So much to do, so much to learn - its an ongoing process.

Oh, our hydrangea mothers are just starting up their new sprouts. They did the same thing last year and we are pleased to offer baby hydrangea this year. And, the bananas are looking better and better - a little raggy on the top, but great root structure. And,...
